Co-founded by Adam Roberts and Otto de Vries, Jamjar is a project that focuses on presenting elements of electronic music not often heard in main stream clubs and venues. The music however remains accessible and a night with Jamjar is night of Lounge, Deep and Soulful House seamlessly blended for aural pleasure. Sometimes soulful, sometime dirty, always deep.
London-based Adam Roberts has been following his passion for music and honing his talents for nine years. As a DJ he can create a night woven with soulful deep house beats and darker minimal deep tech grooves or charge up a dance floor with uplifting house vocals.
Adam mixes with records, Traktor 3 and FinalScratch. On occasion he uses Ableton Live. In the booth he normally has a Powerbook along with his records and various controllers. In the studio he uses Ableton Live, Apple Logic Pro and Propellerheads Reason.
He has played in various venues, clubs and parties in Johannesburg and Cape Town (South Africa), London (UK), Stuttgart and Karlsruhe (Germany), Basel, Geneva and Verbier (Switzerland).
Otto de Vries, now based in London, has been playing for over twenty years, starting out with a couple of tape decks, a mixer and some records! His fascination and love for electronic music has seen him explore most genres over the years, but his love for Lounge and Deep House has kept his interest for the past nine years.
Otto mixes with records and CD’s. On occasion he uses FinalScratch. As the warm-up wizard of this duo, Otto’s House sets moves seamlessly from mid-tempo beats to more up-tempo Deep and Soulful and Deep Tech House. His Lounge sets incorporate trip hop, breaks, bossa and nu-jazz sounds with the odd rare groove in between.
He has played in various venues, clubs and parties in Johannesburg and Cape Town (South Africa), London (UK), Stuttgart and Karlsruhe (Germany), Basel, Geneva and Verbier (Switzerland).
